Job Title: Metal Toolmaker

Job Summary:
Our client is seeking an experienced Metal Toolmaker to manufacture, repair, and maintain precision tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures for metal component production. Must have hands-on toolmaking experience and knowledge of technical drawings, machining processes, and quality control.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and CAD files for tool creation.
  • Operate lathes, milling machines, grinders, and CNC equipment.
  • Repair and modify existing tools to meet production requirements.
  • Test and adjust tools to ensure compliance with tolerances.
  • Collaborate with design engineers to improve tool designs and efficiency.
  • Maintain tool records and ensure safety and quality standards.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of toolmaking experience.
  • Proficient in reading technical drawings and using machine tools.
  • Knowledge of metallurgy and heat treatment processes.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Trade qualification in Toolmaking or equivalent (e.g., Certificate III/IV in Engineering – Toolmaking).

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, Mastercam).
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 or similar quality systems.

Salary & Hours:

  • £35,000 per annum
  • 1 Hour Lunch Break
  • Monday-Thursday, 7:30am-6:00pm
