Role: Events Manager

Location: Burgess Hill, West Sussex

Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, onsite

PAYE Rate: £26.66 – £30.00 per hour, excluding holiday pay

Umbrella Rate: £35.31 – £38.39 per hour

Contract: 12 months, Inside IR35

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Events Manager to join one of our longstanding clients, a leading organisation based in Burgess Hill.

This is a varied, hands-on role responsible for planning and delivering a diverse portfolio of internal and external events, ranging from large multi-day conferences and corporate events through to exhibitions and smaller customer events. You will work closely with internal teams, external suppliers and key stakeholders to ensure events are delivered successfully, within budget and to a high standard.

The Requirements

  • Proven experience and in-depth knowledge of managing virtual, hybrid and face-to-face events
  • Strong event and project management experience
  • Proven stakeholder management skills
  • Experience managing event budgets and expenditure
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Commercial awareness and understanding of how events support wider business objectives
  • Experience coordinating external venues, suppliers and speakers
  • Ability to manage multiple events, priorities and deadlines simultaneously
  • Strong collaborative approach with the confidence to work across different teams and seniority levels
  • Experience using event platforms such as Cvent and CRM systems such as Salesforce would be advantageous
  • Event Management, Marketing, Business or related qualification would be advantageous
  • Previous line management experience would be beneficial
  • Experience within healthcare, diagnostics or another regulated industry would be advantageous

The Role

  • Plan and project manage a varied portfolio of internal and external events
  • Deliver large-scale conferences, corporate events, exhibitions and customer events
  • Source and contract suitable venues
  • Coordinate event content, speakers and suppliers
  • Manage event budgets, purchase orders, invoicing and payments
  • Coordinate accommodation and travel requirements
  • Manage event registrations and produce attendee and delegate lists
  • Provide onsite event and delegate management
  • Complete event risk assessments and ensure health and safety requirements are met
  • Oversee event communications before, during and after events
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams and external suppliers
  • Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders
  • Ensure events are delivered in accordance with relevant compliance requirements
  • Monitor event performance and feedback and contribute to reporting
  • Support wider event and business plans and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Support and encourage less experienced team members where required
